Default Missing Diver Alert- Louisiana Coast

Just got this from Rok, if anyone is fishing bluewater out of Louisiana, please keep your eyes peeled!

Guys,

Jonathan Nobile and Blake Terry were diving this evening on Ewing Banks

873 - Lobster. Blake never came up, there is a possiblity he is

floating on the surface, and the current is heading south, bringing him

further offshore.

If anybody wants to go out there to help with the search, call me first

so I can give the most updated details.

Rok

Prayers sent. I hope it's a rescue and not a recovery. Please keep us posted.

As of right now, Jarred Ulich is heading down to Fourchon to look for the keys to Johnny Pinel's 36 Contender with 3-350 Yamahas. Blake Terry captained the boat many, many times and had the keys to the boat and the camp. The diving crew will be Rafe Antil, Terry Migaud, Wil Demuth , Jarred Ulich and Mike Crossen.

If they cannot find the keys, Jarred has a second boat he can get.

They will get to the platform in the morning and do a deep drop, 230fsw and look for Blake. If unsuccessful we will need all the air support we can muster. The Coast Guard will probably send only one helicopter. If any of you have friends in high places, now is the time to call in your favors.

the distance is right about 60 mi. due south of Fourchon.

the water depth is 900ft.

the current is .8 knots going to the south 170 degrees, as far as I'm told by Jonathan. By the morning he could have floated 15 miles from the platform

Mississippi Canyon currents are running over 1 knot right now. Hope he don't come this way, but with the loop currents right now, he is prolly heading towards Fla.

UPDATE- I got the phone call from Rafe at 11:45 am. today, that they, (I believe this is correct) that Rafe Antil, Terry Migaud, Wil Demuth and Jarred Ulich, made 2 dives to approx. 250fsw at the rig Blake was last seen at. They searched all over the platform to see if Blake may have been tangled to no avail. Rafe also mentioned that it looked like the Coast Guard was heading back in.

For those of you who didn't know Blake, he was a very likable guy that would give you the shirt off his back. I've never seen him without a smile on his face and I have to say, he always treated me with the utmost respect and got the same back. For some reason, I was tuna fishing Thursday and Blakes name came up in conversation with me and the captain several times, nothing but good stuff, in fact I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Blake. And Friday, my screensaver started flipping pictures the way it does, and the picture with Blake, Jonathan and the others with the huge tunas they shot last year popped up; for some reason, the only person I saw in that pic was Blake. I will miss you my friend.
