Default New Addition

This is a picture of my daughter Addison holding our new addition to our family "Oscar"...

ADog's Purpose

(from a 6-year old).

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolf hound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer.I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him.Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?'The Six-year-oldcontinued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'

This is Creole...He's 100% Chocolate Lab...One of the biggest labs we've ever had the pleasure of owning...He's 105 lbs...His tail is so thick, when he gets excited, you have to run for cover because he will take you out

Congrats on the newest addition! We have a dapple ourselves and absolutely love him. Probably one of the best dogs I've owned...

Here's some more of our other dog, Landry...He is a 100% double dapple mini "d"...He thinks he's 10 foot tall and bullet proof...He's got what we call "little dog, big dog" mentality...

Definately One thing is for sure, it's never boring around here with him around...He gets to running around so fast, his back end catches up with his front end and he ends up barrel rolling himself...Hillarious little dogs

Default Dasch mentality

This is my Dasch and min pin mix. He too thinks he is much larger than he really is. The big dog in the pic just blows him off but he keeps on him all the time.

That is one of the best looking labs I have ever seen...he is HUGE! Any chance he will be the future daddy of some pups?

Default Jack...

Here's my jack, min pin mix. He used to be a complete nut but has mellowed in the last couple o' 3 yrs. One is of him and my son. Another is with a squirrel he killed(He wasn't sure what to do when it didn't run from him any more) and, the last is him thinking he may have seen a squirrel...Not the sharpest critter but a HUGE member of the family!DSC01219.jpg
