Same thing happened to my dad when he took me to buy my first new truck. I had to have a Toyota 4 wd so we went to get a deal. Dad had on his best work coveralls/pocket protector with 4 pens, and some worn out broganns.
We spent an hour going back and forth with the salesman when he finally asked my dad how much he could afford to pay for the truck!!!
My dad told him he could pay way more for it than the sticker price but did not plan to and we left without our sausage which he told the salesman to stick it in his azz. Cruised north on airline and stopped at the last dealership and I was worried what he would do with the same treatment on the same day but, they were very nice and saw past his bumpkin outfit. Salesman got right on the price and asked how dad wanted to pay, he said cash and I drove back to pickup my truck the next day. I learned a valuable lesson that day to never judge a book by it's cover. Know plenty of folks that have $$$ and most don't act like the people you encountered. The wantabee's of the world are the ones who mainly act like that.
