that's benchmades rules i guess. one of my guys has one (not benchmade) That is great looking and has a good action. i need to see what brand it is . i think it may be S&W but not sure.
i know that if it spring opens unassisted you can't get em shipped here .
But all you have to do is get em shipped to someone in a legal state and then they can send on.
(this is against louisiana Law and i do not advocate breaking the law ) just know that others have done this.

I think those are OTF or "out the front" knives.....

The one he has is OTF but you have to start the blade moving w/ your thumb. then the spring takes over

I have a kershaw storm 2. I loosened the main screw a little bit and I can sling it open almost as fast as a spring assisted knife. It's got a really sharp blade.
