Default Easy Pick'ns

My buddy and I limited on trout saturday in about 3 hours, caught every thing on birds, which we all know takes zero skill but figured I would throw this report out there anyways. The birds are back which means those crazy a$$ boaters will be in full force, running around like chickens with thier head cut off. I guess some people do not understand that if the birds move that the fish are still there. Stupid people start thier engine right next to where I am fishing and haul a$$ to the next set. Man if I would have had a flare gun this saturday it would have got used.

Have some freaking etiquette!!

Note: Did not take pics because all of our fish were between 14 and 16 inches.

Yeh I almost had to give some dude a beatdown the other day. He runs his motor almost all the way up to me on a flock, then drops his trolling motor. I gave him the patented both arms in the air *** gesture and he trolled off!

Yeah, I don't know why I let it get me so aggravated, but I swear some times I wonder how these people even manage to catch fish.

"W" that is the laws you need to be pushing for in BR.

Its unreal..........The ones that blow my mine is a boat with no trolling motor....... I attack every group to collect the most trout possible then you get a 30ft twin engine offshore rig pull up on a group of bird using the outboards as a trolling motor........... WHAT DO THEY THINK...REally

, it so funny you should mention that, this guy pulls up on me with no trolling motor, in a 28 ft rig, shuts down and coast through the birds, cuts me off and everything, he might have caught one fish then turns back and yells at me, "What y'all catching em on"..............I tried to hold my composure, then I replied, "I am catching em all on corkies"......
His buddy and him said they had some and started tieing them on.

I understand that, but I figured the best place to vent was here. With people who know what I am talking about.

I don't know which is worse: That some of them really just don't even have a clue that what they are doing is wrong.

OR

Some of them know that what they're doing is straight up crap and they just don't care.

..........

I had tried a tripod mounted 40mm grenade launcher on the front of our boat for these types of guys, but it kept getting in the way of the trolling motor so I had to take it off.

the past few times i've been out, everyone has been really courteous and polite. I know that will change with the warm sunny weather.

Last fall I had an older couple come up to a flock I was working, from the wrong side, under power and stopped right at the edge of the birds, dropped the trolling motor and started fishing.
I started up my motor and putt putted right in front of them, thru the birds and got the flock out of there.
I am very tolerent of people coming in on a flock I am fishing, if they are using a trolling motor. I think there are enough fish for all of us. But don't cut in front of me, and don't mess up the fish with dumb antics like running the main motor or showing your strength by doing an expert anchor toss.

I don't have a trolling motor on my boat but can ussually successfully fish birds.

But I do not try to fish a set of birds that is currently being fished by other fisherman. I go up wind and kill the motor a good 100-150 yards out and let the wind drift me in.

Now what really ticks me off is when boats with trolling motors rush in and cut my drift off. If they want to fish the birds that I was drifting that's fine but they have to stay out of drift. Just because you use a trolling motor doesn't give you the right to be inconsiderate of people who don't. The same goes when birds start working around anchored boats. I have been anchored out and all of a sudden the birds start working fifty yards from me and the armada flies in. We are anchored because we don't want to join the circus so please don't bring the circus to us.

U know it is a shame to have someone run up in your birds but it is also a shame to listen to grown men whine about it. It won't change, i had a guy back his boat down the ramp the other day and start rigging all his stuff right there with 10 boats trying to launch. I take this a unconsiderate at running up in your birds. Deal with it.

Oh don't worry I will deal with, it will start with a flare gun and then will amplify from there!!

Eye for an eye type thing.
