Bruce Baugh, Steve Nelson & Eddy Hicks are the best of the best on the lake. I admire these guys for their knowledge, skill and ability to produce trophy trout. The best of the best did not show up. Maybe one of the best. Its crazy the caliber of fisherman that fish Big Lake and consistently catch trophy fish year around that you will never hear of. I have had the pleasure to meet a few and they are like Jedi with a fishing pole. I swear some of them use the force to catch fish. I'm sure Bruce Bauge is the same, matter of fact he is so nice he often parks right in front of me when I'm on a wade and shows me all the fish I could have caught. But as I said my comments are aimed at getting the largest turnout as possible. The average fisherman is not going to pay his money to get beat up on by guides. The CCA has rules against guides/pros and look how big the CCA Shootout has gotten. If you want a high turnout successful tournament, then copy high turnout successful tournaments. Remember the bigger the turnout the more money for the kids. This year was a class act and I can not wait till next year...
