Camper Hitch
 

Does anyone have a hitch hooked up behind their camper. I need to pull a trailor behind my camper. Anyone know a good place to get one, or have one for sale?

We did home made.......bout 50 bucks in parts and an arc welder......its a 30ft fifth wheel and tow a 17ft bay boat behind......kinda scary cause you can't see the boat back There......

Catdaddy here is what I used to make my own hitch for our camper. I acquired a 6' piece of 4" heavy wall square box. Cut to fit between the rear camper frame and welded it in place. Welded from the ends of the 4" square box back to the frame a support to prevent twisting. Acquired a 2" receiver hitch platform and welded that to the the center of the 4" square box. Welded a support from the rear of the receiver hitch platform to the 4" square box.
We have been towing our boat/trailer with 4-wheeler for the last two years behind the camper with this setup with no issues.

Mine is home made also. Used square tubing.

Not sure where your going, but double up towing isn't legal in some states ......your good in Louisiana but I think mississippi don't like it.......

I've always wondered what would happen if you got to your destination and your third rig was missing. Where would you start looking? Seriously, Radio Shack sells a cheap video camera so you can watch your 3rd rig from the tow vehicle. It's nice to know when you've blown a tire or cooked a wheel bearing without having to be flagged down by passing motorist...

I found that if you're on the interstate just whip it real hard to the left lane then whip it back to the right & you can see it:rolleyes:. ALWAYS PARK WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO BACK UP!!!!!! I would stop somewhere (walmart) & park all the way out, not a soul around, get ready to leave & some azzhole would be parked right in front of me!:pissed:

I used something similar to this. Used the "u-bolt" made for square tubing to attach it to the bumper of the camper. Found it at Autozone or O'reillys

Easter weekend last month, my dad got to the campground, unhooked the boat so he could back the camper in and it took off on him..............he chased it for a minute but couldnt catch it..........there was a nice fella there that helped.......he parked his truck in the path of the boat!!!! it came to a screeching hault finally.........some calls were made to ins. company and all was good..........Lots of damage from one boat!!!!

Now you know what to get him for his B/D. Some WHEEL CHOCKS...:*****:

Is that for the Toledo Trip or just in general?

Mainly in general... But the Toledo trip triggered me to get the lead out my hind end.

I been looking at a "Bad Boy Buggy" to bring camping so the wife and kids can ride, and i like to bring my boat camping, so.... Its best that i can haul something behind the camper.
