how well do you think this would go over?
a live wiegh-in trout tourney with a slot limit on the trout with the biggest being 25" so the true trophys wont be handled from water to boat to weigh in and back to water.with 5 places paid and first guarenteed at least $1500.thought this would help save the trophys.

make it 1 fish IMO.....why do you need a stringer of big fish? Can't talk about trying to conserve the big ones and do a 3 or 5 fish stringer IMO.
|
If you're that worried about the big fish then why even have a tournament? Make the tournament a 5 fish tourney and the smallest weight wins.

yep....too many tourneys held on BL
"Make the tournament a 5 fish tourney and the smallest weight wins. " Call it the 5 - W ....with a 12 - 14 " slot limit :) |

#1 tip for upcoming summer tourneys: Add very small amounts of ice or keep a old water bottle frozen to keep in your livewells. Trout will cook in the summertime livewells. |
One fish per boat with weigh stations on the water, westside, eastside, south and north. Updates on fish weighed in realtime via VHF or email to smart phone. Fish could be weighed, tagged and realeased in minutes versus cooking in a live well waiting to be weighed.
I believe in the future, all tournaments will have to be run this way if they want to stay in business. IMO, this makes more sense if conservation is your primary objective.;) |
Or how about a CPR tourney?? Give everyone the same kind of ruler or sticker with the measurements on it like the CCA CPR ruler sticker and make everyone take a picture of their fish on the ruler that way no fish need to be kept in the boat.

just curious as to why people get up in arms over a catch and release tourney? seriously, trying to figure this out. how's it any different than any other day on the lake. I know people "target" big fish in a tourney, but I know people that target big fish every day on the water. just asking...
trophytroutman's idea sounds like a good one to me. and to josh's point, if you make an effort to keep fresh water in your live well all should be good... |
Ok, wow, enough is enough, I believe in conservation but some of you guys are starting to sound like you work for Obama.
Lets all just quit bringing rod and reals and hope a fish swims by so we can take a picture. Give me a break,.... I like trophytroutman's idea, I say we go with that. 95% of you guys can't catch one over 25 inches anyway.:*****: |
