Freshwater Bayou Snapper

Anyone have any luck catching the elusive red snapper within 30 miles of freshwater bayou or grand chenier during June and July?

yep but it's better fishing at 40-50 miles

You can catch them closer, but the season isn't always open when they are closer in.
You can catch them 15 to 20 miles out in the Spring and Fall. Sometimes in the Summer too.

tried EC-46,48,64,81 last July but they were full of sharks

VR 119, 124,125 etc then work your way out from there, VR 161BJ and EC 61 were good too.
