Good dog
I just need to vent.... About 2:15am this morning, my watch dog (whom is a mountain cur dog) named "T" (You'll see why I named him this later on in the story) was barking hysterically. I got up, grabbed my 870 12 guage... fumbled for a few shells and got it ready to go along with my mag lite in about 5.1234 seconds. I went to the door, in full stealth mode in boxers and a captain morgan t-shirt. I think I see an extra car parked in the driveway. The reason I think I see this is cause I have no glasses nor contacts in to see. I stalk back to the bathroom and slip my contacts in. "T" is still barking like there is an intruder. I go back to the front door, peak open the curtains and I see someone sitting in the chair on my front porch. What do i do?? I ask myself. "T" is on a rubber coated cable about 15 ft long in a fenced in yard because we have little kids over all the time and he becomes quite vicious sometimes. "T" is cutting flips over this person sitting in the chair on my front porch. Barking so hard he is choking himself with the choke chain he has around his neck. Before I could get the door unclocked and flip the porch light on, "T" snaps the rubber coated cable and it takes him about .02345345 seconds to latch onto this person sitting on my porch. "T" grabs the dudes sack and I hear this god awful sound coming from this person. So I wait a few seconds and then sling open the door, flip on the porch light... yell at "T" to break--- and this guy has one hand on his sack and the other on a 5th of something. I asked him *** he was doing on my porch, he couldnt explain himself because he was 200% intoxicated.Come to find out he is a neighbor of mine and he thought he was "home". I drive him home cause his B.A.C is probably 70 times the legal limit, and drop him on his front porch.
My question to you all is.... I have no pistol anymore--- (I sold them) I want a home defense style weapon--tricked out--light--laser all that... good dependable pistol--no 9mm-- has to be a .40 or bigger and a case it fits in so i can get my CCW permit-- I also want to have this sidearm to be big enough to carry on my person when I go hog hunting on the river |
Go back and talk to him tomorrow and see if he remembers why his nuts are hurting. :D

Get yourself a Smith & Wesson M&P .45, nice pistol and gets the job done. I have one and it is a sweet shooting hand gum. You can get laser Grips from Laserlyte or get the rail attachment for laser site and tactical light.

you should have poured maple syrup all over him and sicked all 20 of yer dogs on his azz and made a youtube vid:rotfl: i got a hk usp 45 and a mid size glock 40 cal one by the bed and the other stays in my truck or on me always .

When it comes to concealed weapon carry, BIGGER is not better. The idea of concealed is not a huge bulge sticking out 4 inches from your chest or waist. You need a gun you can truly hide and go in public with. A small caliber with hollow points will get your point across. Remember the majority of confrontations happen with in 8 feet. You pull the trigger on any weapon at that rang and people are ducking and running. As far as a side arm for hunting well that's a whole other game. Go big and have fun.

No need for a pistol. Cut half of that 12 gauge barrel off, take the plug out, and fill it with 000 buckshot and let the police ground check them if they come in your house.

think this is the one im gonna get... either a .40 or a .45
|
Kimber .45
|
glock 23 .40 it has the power and is good for a concealed gun
|
I carry the M&P .40. I absolutely love it. Once you decide on a caliber, its all gonna come down to which one fits your hand. When I bought my M&P, I was set on a Glock. After handling both, the M&P just fit better.

guess i needa make a trip to academy to see which one "fits" better ?? its between a .40 or a .45..... .40 cal has cheaper rounds... .45 is more popular..... .45 would be better to take as a sidearm hog hunting along with my .270.... .40 would be easier to stuff in the center console of my truck..... ahhhhhhh the thoughts !!!!!!

Sig - P220 , all you will ever need for carry protection.
I am not worried about who or what sees my big pistol when I carry! I want them to know I am packing heat and the bad guys will need to get the jump on me! I am not a fan of a .380 or other "compact" pistols, although they do have their place. I have seen what small calibers will do to bad people and I will take my chances with the BIG holes and I am willing to sacrafice the size of the gun to make those BIG holes!!!! Any .45 nowadays are good - H&K, Kimber, Glock, S&W, etc... But I like my Sig. |
its either Springfield armory or h&k..... .40 for sure...
