Ascension parish councilman Kent Shexnayder......family being doing this kind of work for two generations. He has been in Grand Isle for a while now.....not sure how to reach him other than 411.....Gonzales area.

What kind of piles you looking at putting? I may be able to hook you up.

Raymond 03-10-2010 10:24 AM

Thanks for the responsses, should have clarified, the location is Deatonville on Big Lake. Figure it will need treated creosote pilings
but will need surveyor to shoot elevation to detremine how long.

Creosote pilings are not necessarily needed. Take a look at some of the other camps/homes in the area, they are built treated or cement pilings.

Because, cement is a binder used to make concrete, you can have a concrete pile, but there is no such thing as a cement pile.

Yes it is illegal to put creosote pilings in the water. Check with the DEQ. All pilings used now are treated, like plywood, 2X4's etc.
