Bored at 200 feet....

Well here I am at couple hundred feet in the air sitting on a scaffold board. Yes, one scaffold board! It's cold like God knows what and I'm stuck waiting for an inspector to look at my weld so I can continue. What's everybody else doin?

What a life! 12 hours a night and 4 to 5 hours a day in my shop are really starting to take it's toll! Night 18 in the plant and day 15 in the shop! In short, billystix, I know how fatigue causes mistakes! Lol. Btw, I still think you make some beautiful rods!

Right along there with ya on working the nights. Just I'm on the ground:). You ought to know that the QC department doesn't get in any hurry!!!! What plant you in?

southern151 03-05-2010 12:08 AM

For reasons of what I'm doin with being on here, I won't openly say the plant name. Nights are no fun and cold ones are even worse! Glad to know I'm not alone

you must have someone getting paid to be a fitter, no true fitter would have gave that to you to weld. I know I would not have done it.

Riser line on the frac column. And, as for the QC, we must have had Stevie Wonder for inspection. Actually, they just really want this thing back and it's hard to fit up when it's hangin by a choker.

adamsfence 03-05-2010 05:36 PM

he Probly didn't want to have to climb back up there

That is high dollar money there if they want to revamp/retray it. The refining business has been slow but at least the chemical and natural gas work is somewhat busy.

adamsfence 03-05-2010 10:38 PM

asr what do you do?

Sales manager for Sulzer Chemtech.....we design, manufacture, and install distillation equipment...ie.....trays, structured packing, and associated internals for columns....

I know our plant keeps Sulzer in business. we always have stripper columns coming down and doing tray repair. I pulled some pump suction strainers the other night and it was full of stainless football washers, nuts and bolts.! I work at Total Petrochemicals in Carville
