ditto, I'd buy it for that, but I want to buy a bass boat.

PM Dink(Tim) and ask how he likes his cape horn.... wet riding boat though

Montauk17 03-04-2010 04:02 PM

Good boat but underpowered.....

specktator 03-04-2010 05:38 PM

Nice boat!

jchief 03-04-2010 06:06 PM

Be aware that they have NO storage.

Sea-Trac Offshore 03-04-2010 07:38 PM

Just worked on a 14' and have ridden and worked on larger ones. No storage and wet wet wet

Dink 03-04-2010 09:25 PM

That year model is NOT a "wet horn".........they did some hull mods in 2000...........I LOVE my cape horn....They are right about the storage on that boat......Mine has a HUGE storage space under center console, this one's console is a bit tiny, but I use My live well as well, you can too......You wont find a tougher boat on the market, there was a running thing on Hulltruth.com about Cape Horn owners TRYING to get stress cracks in their gel coat..................None could do it for years!!! Some fella finally got it done, but he was going full throttle thru 6ft waves.........He was very proud of himself........Anyway, that is a lifetime hull there, there is NO manufacturer that lays fiberglass thicker that Cape Horn, and the ride is great on mine, but I have a bit more Vee............you wanna come ride, let me know........different size boat, but you'll get the idea..........any more questions, PM me your number and I'll call.............Tim

this is a great buy for that price...2002 is when the new hull came out that solved the "wet horn" nickname.....if i had 6 grand to spend i'd buy it...

Dink 03-04-2010 10:13 PM

As for the underpowered comments.....I'm not sure.....mine will take a 200 but has a 150...... it'll do 45 loaded, so just how fast you wanna go?

Montauk17 03-04-2010 10:19 PM

It is a good boat but with that 75 it will be tough to get on step with a load and only do mid to low 30's.

Dink 03-04-2010 10:25 PM

Ryan, its a 16.....can't be that heavy huh? Think my old prop would fit on that?

adamsfence 03-04-2010 10:42 PM

man dinks boat is a beast it was taking waves like nothing and we was in some bad stuff I would defiantly recommend cape horn boats they got to be tough to go through what we went through
