Weather

Thought everyone would love to hear this. In a meeting today we were told that most rivers/streams in Louisiana or at/near flood stage and the State expects them to stay there until June due to a very wet spring.

:(:(:(

yay three cheers for great weather, hip hip hooray. Never fails, ya get a new toy and something screws up to where you can't hardly use it. just got a new(used) boat in december.

Ray 02-23-2010 06:30 PM

All this bad weather is not my fault. I am still at work.

The salinity in Big Lake is finally starting to go up... Hope it stays that way for another couple weeks.

Evans 02-23-2010 06:39 PM

Lets just make it a redfish tournament!

FF_T_Warren 02-23-2010 06:43 PM

? ok not looking to get killed over this or nothing, but why not have the tournament around may or even a little later when the water has warmed up and the fishing is more consistent. I mean why schedule such an event around a time where the cold may or may not be outta here yet and the fishing is hit or miss. Now granted I'm no pro fisherman like some of you fellas but still.

The last 3 years this has been a good time to catch some big trout and still is. Later in the next months they have to many tournaments going on and scheduking isnt to good. I am praying for a good weekend for the 13th and with any luck and prayers it will be.

Sounds good despite what the weather maybe. Good times and its for a benifit. I keeping my fingers crossed.

1: I don't want to be Weighing in 12 inch fish.
2: We came up with the day just pickin numbers,so the offshore guys could fish it.
3:Good spring time fishing during March.
4:Lot more challenge to catch feesh. I like a challenge ;)

the calcasieu in oakdale just got back in banks so hopefully this dont include big lake. the river here normally falls pretty quick . there are not a whole lot of tributaries between here and there to make much of a difference.......The red river in alex is a different story it just won't go down

The evening weather report today showed only one day in the next week where the temperature will get up to 60 degrees. It will be colder tomorrow night than tonight.

Wrong answer on #2.

Salty 02-23-2010 10:36 PM

Doesn't appear as though the snowfall they were expecting tonight will make it out of Texas. Temps in the lower to mid-40's across south Louisiana will prevent any accumulation..

Country Boy 02-23-2010 10:53 PM

if the conditions are still bad for the tourny we will see who the better trout fisherman are, when the conditions are good pretty much anybody can catch, but not just anyone can catch when the conditions are bad.

adamsfence 02-23-2010 11:48 PM

well if they are bad all I will catch is a buzz

LaAngler 02-24-2010 12:10 AM

we will weight trout for the tourney
