Marsh Access

Need a little help... How do I go about getting into the marsh on the backside of the weirs? I have seen boats back there before, do they launch somewhere other than the lake itself or is there entry somewhere from the lake. Also is the water deep enough in the marsh for a bayboat?

tanner91lsu 02-23-2010 10:37 AM

ive only been out there once and from what i remember i dont think the water is deep enough for a bay boat. and on how to get there i think you just launch at the lake go where you need to go and i think there is a cut that takes you to the other side somewhere around there

Access it via Lambert and just watch for the signs where the private property starts. They will have a deputy out there from time to time making sure the private property stays private.

You can run a bay boat in some areas back there you just need to know where. Also, be careful that you console will fit through at high tide. Literally had to take on water to get out one day after the tide came in.

Stay in the main canal or Grand and Lamberts Bayous and you won't have any prollems at all. Be careful in the big ponds and smaller bayous.

Isnt it Miami Corp property when u take a left and start heading north a good ways back towards 1st weir south of Hebert's? i have been run out of there 4 or 5 times about 5 or 6 years ago. he is right about driving through it. u better be on top your game.
