I sell it all but, suggest trying to get it from your primary insurance agent that handles your HO,Auto, ect. If you do not have a primary agent, give me a call and I will try to help you.

YEP.... I have had boat coverage with Progressive about 10 years now...never one claim...

PUREBAY2200 02-17-2010 02:09 PM

Ur deductible will make the diff premimum on Ur premimum.
Mine was 1000$, had to use it and it was not fun.
Changed it to 250 and my premimum went up 15$ mth. But id rather pay 15$ more a month and know that if I need to use my deductible it is just 250 and not 1000$.
Look at the entire policy... Not just the price.
Most of the people who say insurance companies ripped them off took the "cheaper policy" with less coverage instead of the "expensive policy" with the correct coverage.

raymond how many times a day you hear that gripe...my wife always complains about the ones that she told them that they were undercovered and they said dont worry about it until something happened then they freaked out

PUREBAY2200 02-17-2010 04:31 PM

I'm an agent with New York Life, it's takes sitting down and explaining the ACTUAL coverage they my clients HAVE and what they NEED.
Most of the people I have meet with don't even know what the face amount of their life insurace is or the kind.
BUT ...They absolutely know what the monthly premimum is.
Same with investments...
10% have it all together.
60% have no clue and just hope they will have enough in retirement.
30% are way to involved and stress to much .... Makin them impossible to work with..
Buy back tothe topic.
Make sure u choose the best policy based on coverage... Not price.....

x2 I also went with the $250 deductible.

I used to use Farm Bureau also. Emphasis on "used to"!

They were great until I need to have a claim filed on my truck. Then I found out just what they don't pay for. Dropped them like a hot potato!

I now have Progressive for my boat, which have been awesome so far. Went to State Farm in Jennings and got more coverage for $1100 less than what I was paying for HO, Autos, 4wheelers, etc.....

PUREBAY2200 02-17-2010 06:26 PM

State farm is where I have my truck and boat. My uncle is my agent.
I have had a few claims on my truck. 2 were wrecks not my fault. 2 were hit and run. He and state farm handled it perfect. I never had to deal with anyone on the phone. They did all the work and got my truck fixed perfectly!
I'll keep my auto and boat with them as long as I own them.

catch.and.fillet 02-17-2010 07:42 PM

I'll give Progressive a call....

I have BoatUS. $450/yr includes $38k boat and eqpt, $300 ded, $500k liab, $4k trailer w/$50 ded, w/ free towing, refueling and trailering roadside service. But I'm a new policy holder. I think it goes down every year. This is based on dry storage at Ellender's.
