Thanks, dog. My wife has a meeting at the Landmark Hotel on Severn and I told her I'd ride with her....so she don't get lost.

Yep, North of I-10 is where you're going, but it extends south of it as the map suggests. The Landmark was something in the old days.

Does anyone know if Puglia's is still in business on Veterans? Is there an Academy close by?

bigdog 06-05-2009 10:32 PM

Yes, Puglia's, still open.. The nearest Academy in in Elmwood or Westbank..
How long are you going to be here in town.

Salty 06-05-2009 10:44 PM

Just tomorrow. Thought I'd kill some time while my bride was in her meeting. Don't know about going to Academy, tho... I hate New Orleans. :)

Too bad your not in LC tomorrow, we would hop in the bay boat and go ride around Big Lake and look for "W" and the team. I'm sure he would have a few words for us when we motored up on him..lol...

Puglia's is still there and doing brisk business. I used to hate going there because a lot of their stuff is so overpriced. I was big into Bayou Specialties on River Road. Academy put them out of business. I really am not much of a fan of Academy. They're the Wal Mart of the sporting goods world. They put the local places out of business and they don't carry local favorites very much. The kids that work there don't know which end of a fishing pole to hold. So recently I've started going to Puglia's and happily paying their prices because of their service and advice.
