Trailer Bearings
How often should you repack/replace bearings on boat trailers. I put about
30-50 miles every other week my trailer. Launch mostly fresh to brackish waters. Trailer is 2 years old now. |
get u a set of bearing buddies.... grease up every 5-7 trips... their easy to install.
|
Right after I spin a hub, and throw a tire.
JJ Every few months. |
Thanks! I guess I just change them out just to be safe & install a set of bearing buddies.
|
Everytime I get TO the launch, I feel both hubs.....if they are even overly warm, I check em......no worse feeling than seeing your trailer tire pass you on the Interstate

If you don't have these problems.......good to go.......no need to repair the hubs. I give each hub a couple pumps of grease every 300 to 500 miles or about twice a year. AND......also check the tire pressure and treads for ware. This could be a sign of bearing starting to go bad. |
Thank's that kind of takes the worry out of my mind that I had about when to do what. Every one I would talk to at work had different advice.
