euk sporting has by far been the best thing i feed brutus. only downfall is $$$, its pricey.

If she is growing too fast, her vet may put her on calcium tablets to help keep her bones strong....Had to do that with my lab Rock...May he R.I.P...

She goes next week for a visit. I'll ask the vet about that.
He's really good been bringing all our family pets there for years.
But this is the first time I've been soley responsible for a dog and seein how I shelled out $$$ for her I wanna make sure I keep up with all her stuff.
Our other dogs lived pretty long and I just wanna keep that trend going.

JL is right on the money. Eukabuba is the best that I have fed...especially for young dogs. A 40 lb bag was $43 for the puppy formula last time I purcased it. That was 3 years ago. I feed my older dogs exclusive and they do well on it. Good luck with your pup!

I have been very pleased with Nutro's .

Price is 29 for 40 lbs and they have a program where every ten bags you get one free.

I feed three bassets, a pitbull and my little boykin on Nutros and have for the last eight years.

A solid food for a fair price.

I've always fed mine euk puppy, but then switched to Purina Lamb and rice once mature.......my boxer is 12 now and still acts like a pup.....their normal life span is 8 to 10 yrs. That's just my experience.......the expensive foods always gave my dogs loose stool, yours may be different.......... Tim

mine eat's purina pup chow. but she a;so isn't that big of a lab

Dink 02-06-2010 03:29 PM

And definatly talk to you vet about growing so fast.......my rotti would cry and whine b/c she was growing so fast, it hurt!!! Not sure what they can do, but it sucks having to watch it........

specktator 02-06-2010 04:47 PM

I feed mine pedigree large breed. They have a puppy type too that I fed him when he was a pup.

Been feeding my labe Purina 1 lamb and rice for years. No issues whatever. Watch the "fillers" in any food you look at.

I fed my labs Purina 1 also. When they got older I fed them the one with fish in it. They ate the crap out of that stuff. The good thing is they never had the runs with Purina 1.
