Help a brother out

Looking to possibly by two new setups.
I need a good quality bottom fishing set up that would also work for light trolling when the rip is close.

would 30's get it done?
I really like the Avet bait casters anyone using those?

depends on what you're trolling for. They'd work fine for dolphin or wahoo, be a good battle. If you hooked a big tuna or marlin, better hope you have a good captain, as the boat would would have to help you compenstate for lack of drag on the reels.

I got a 330GTI setup from about 15 years ago and I noticed the other day they still sell 'em. I believe the gear ratio and rating is pretty good for what you wanna do. Back in the day, it was light enough to cast to the rip and also heavy enough to troll and bottom fish. I remember I wanted a set (4) but stopped fishing out of Venice shortly after getting my first rig.
