ouch, wind stop!

Synopsis For Lower Atchafalaya To High Island Tx Out 60 Nm
A surface low off the Louisiana coast will move east this afternoon...allowing for strong north winds to build behind the exiting low. As the low tracks further northeast...winds and seas will relax by late Sunday morning. With the strong northerly winds overnight...tides across the inter-coastal waterway and Inland Lakes and bays will run about one half to a foot below predicted tidal levels through Sunday.
Small Craft Advisory in effect through late tonight

i considered going wet a line at big lake tomorrow but not sure i want to fish low tides

Rained here all day. My dad got 2.25" in his rain gauge.
We were just starting to get some salt in Big Lake.

bohunterbiff 01-16-2010 10:56 PM

How bad will that rain affect Big Lake on Monday?

Ray 01-16-2010 10:58 PM

Salinity is higher today than it has been in a couple months.
It might go down a little, depending on how much rain was dumped up North.

bohunterbiff 01-16-2010 11:16 PM

Well, I am going anyway.....been too long between trips. Need to get the boat and tackle out. Hope the weather reports are right about the temperature.....not a fan of the wind prediction though, would like it under the double digits.

Gerald 01-17-2010 02:54 AM

I think we got about 1+" here in Moss Bluff.....so it should not affect Big Lake very much.

Ray 01-17-2010 03:19 PM

Salinity got to 16, then dropped to 12, now it's 10 and falling. Dangg rain.

Gerald 01-17-2010 04:53 PM

I was off a little yesterday on our rain fall.........we got 2" yesterday, so that will add a several more days before the salinity starts to rise.

Maybe by early Feb. the salinity will start to get good.

Ray 01-17-2010 07:00 PM

Salinity bottomed out and is turning up. It didn't go down too bad yet.
It is still better than all of December.
