Too many rumors right now. I've heard anywhere from 0 to 100's to 1000's.

LaAngler 01-11-2010 01:56 PM

I figured some LC saltycajuns would have went ride the lake and share some pictures with us.

If I were closer I would.

SULPHITE 01-11-2010 01:57 PM

Too cold for dat!

Ray 01-11-2010 02:34 PM

If I didn't have a cold, I would be looking.
I need to make a run before the water goes back up. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.
I have to go to Cameron in the morning to get some free, shucked oysters.

I'm going fishing tomorrow but did talk to a guide that said there were a few fish kills nothing major and no big trout as of yet...(Good source) the ones that were found was around comm pt. Don't think they were trout

adamsfence 01-11-2010 02:48 PM

maybe it just killed some hardheads thats all it killed in my dad's pond was the catfish all the scaled fish made it don't know if that affects anything

Ray 01-11-2010 02:51 PM

There are not many hard heads in Big Lake due to the salinity.
Last 2 times we fished, we fished with raw shrimp for Redfish.
We caught no hard heads. That was a miracle.

fishinpox 01-11-2010 03:18 PM

man i hope for the best

Out look at worst........If you would even have a 1000 dead trout.......this is not a big deal!!! On any given day of good fishing ...... 15 guide boats with 60 trout limit=900 trout...plus your other fisherman........Just about everyday your taking 1000 trout off the lake!!! Over the last few weeks not many trout have been caught due to freshwater and cold weather!!! So worst case 1000 trout.........yes its a waist but not a disaster...

Sounds like what I've heard. So your source said Comm. Point and mine saw some dead in West Cove, but not too many, and it looked like mostly redfish.
