Help with trim and tilt noise

My 2006 Yamaha F115 trim and tilt assembly was changed in August 2014 and I noticed the other day as I was trimming it up and down just to make sure everything was working properly before my next trip and as I was trimming up from all the way lowered it started making an awful noise as like something was crunching or like grinding, anyone else have or had this problem? I hope it isn't going out again. It was changed last time over warranty and they told me it was a $1,500 job. Hope it's something I can fix on my own

Try putting grease on the the end of your 2 rams. There are balls that roll at the end of each that need grease are it will sound horrible if dry

x2 ^^ it sounds like freddy kruger running his knives across the chalk board when they rub get some quicksilver 2-4-c from Walmart don't use regular grease as it will deteriorate faster and do not grease the shaft themselves as it will attract dust which will act as sand paper on the seals
