Doin the Great Loop in a Sea Kayak

For those of you who do not know what The Great Loop is, this link below will explain it better. It is a 5,000 to 7,000 mile boat trip around the Eastern United States. Many do it as found on this site.

The link below will take you to a website of a guy "Doin' the Loop" in a Sea Kayak. He left from Portage Wisconsin and is currently in Baton Rouge. He will travel the Gulf Coast around Florida, up the east coast, and back to Portage Wisconsin. Check him out!!!

They will probably take the Intercoastal Canal. There will be just a few spots
that they will have to go out in the open ocean and gulf.

A buddy of mine met a guy from Wisconsin at the landing in intracoastal city the second to last weekend of the first split. He was headed to Austin by means of a cannoe and had stopped to camp for the night.

No thanks I'll fly. Can you imagine the trip home? Against the current. LOL. I'm sure he had different plans to get home. I think my friend said he had Wisconsin in June.
