The next generation

My little boy will be four weeks old tomorrow. My wife surprised me with some pictures she got taken. He's going to be a hunting and fishing fool like his daddy and his Pa. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8db2347a92.jpg

That's awesome!!! Beautiful pic. Congrats. There is no better feeling than knowing you are passing on a tradition that will last a lifetime. My son just turned 14 and I got him his lifetime license and that was a proud moment for me.

as i sit here at 30 years old, when i was a kid i can remember the times sitting down with my grandfather looking at his old duck stamps he kept, his seasonal log book he kept records of who killed what at whichever blinds. listening to the old stories of him and his friends in the marsh and offshore trips. how they used carry ducks out the marsh draped over push poles to the breaking point, to catch tarpon out of cameron, etc.

next are the memories of my dad carrying me on his back through the marsh to the blind. me shooting decoys with my BB gun, shooting my first duck with my dad with his crack barrel .410 his dad gave him, my first youth model 870, etc.

i will be bringing a little one into this world at the end of september, and i cannot wait to share these memories with him/her. i just hope one day that he/she will cherish the stories from his/her grandfather one day as i did.

the moments shared with family in the outdoors are like no other.

P.S. great picture man.

That is so true. I have lots of the same memories of the same things sitting at duck camps as a little boy hanging out with the men I've always looked up to in my family. To me there is no better way to bring up a young boy/girl.

Hopefully your kids will even get the chance to hunt and fish.

The Government is going to add a chemical to the water to make it dry up and give ducks and other game animals a hormone that will cause them to not reproduce. Good luck finding a fish/duck/deer in 4 years. The government is gonna take them all away.

Man that is awesome. My boy will be 18 in a couple of weeks. Soak it up bro. All of it. He'll be a man in the blink of an eye.

There is no doubt about that duck man. Looking forward to all the lil moments to spend with him. And raise him up right.

I'm excited to see you and Sonya's baby Chris. Going to be awesome. You will love it.

My mom still has some pics and old reel movies of our grand dads fishing in big lake catching tarpon. They had some good times.

My son is now 2 weeks old and I'm excited just as you are quackhead. Congrats on the baby and Chris hope to see yours soon.
