worms in trout

is it normal to have the long white worms in trout? I caught a couple at work this morning and they were full of worms. I pulled them all out the best I could, just have never noticed this many before.

Yeh. Shrimp get them too. Trout may get them from shrimp.

Adds protein and taste great. Very common in the summer.

thanks for the information. even if they weren't harmful to humans, my wife wouldn't eat them if she knew they were there. lol

Bingo! don't tell your bride. I know if my wife knew there was even a possibility there might have been a worm in a speck fillet, she would never eat another. Like many things, some things don't need to be talked about.

The first rule of worm club is that you don't talk about worm club

See it all the time down here in Baffin Bay, due to the extreme salinity of the bay. Just like the French, we say "Bon Appetite."
