Joys of Snow Skiing

2 Attachment(s)
A tad bit gory...but I managed on my first day of snow skiing in Breckenridge Co. to come back w/ a new war wound. I had just finished 1/2 day of skiing, making my first run from from lunch at the top of the Peak...and found the only nub of a 2.5" diameter tree that was sticking up out of the snow about 3 inches. :pissed: I took a pic of the culprit and will post it up later for you guys to laugh at. I had already had ACL reconstruction on this leg and since the laceration was so deep and close to my knee(joint) i had to have emergency surgery by an orthopedic surgeon. Luckily there was no ligament, tendon, or joint damage and it was cleaned out thouroghly and stitched up. A prayer or 2 for a good healing w/o any infection would be greatly appreciated b/c im at a greater risk for infection due to a titanium screw in my knee. Im getting around on it well and have a fly fishing trip set up today since i can't ski anymore. Will post pics from the trip this evening upon return. Tight lines and hope everyone has a Happy New Year!:fireworks:

Luckily it didn't hurt...i suppose the nerve damage i had from the previous knee surgery helped. It actually felt like i a light burning sensation...as if i skinned my leg on the corner of a cabinet. As i started to get up i noticed my ski pants were torn and blood was everywhere. Then i took a peek at it and knew i was in bad shape. Got hauled down on a sleigh by the medics...that was a bit embarrasing but o well. It happend so fas and was a very clean cut being as it came from a tree stump. Only nervousness was how much blood i had lost...seemed like it took forever for the medics to get there.

I had twisted my knee pretty bad the first time I snowboarded and my brother broke his arm, both happened within a few hours of each other. It sucks having to watch everybody else do what you were doing.

Good deal, as long as it stays cold and you dont get too much snow it should be good.

Gold Metal Waters means no live bait, no trebs, barbs, all catch and release its the trophy section of the river.

I attached a little song for you enjoy.

Well...could only manage to "land" 1 brown trout, but got to fight a few as i learned to fly fish. I'll post the pic of the lil beaut when i return. I'm hooked on fly fishing now! I've already made an order from Orvis and will have it on Big for now on! Can't wait to land a red/trout on a fly rod.
