Big Lake Sat / Sun

Didn't really expect to be able to fish much this past weekend but the weather cleared Saturday afternoon so I zipped out there in search of some action. The whole north end of the lake was super muddy. Starting around mid lake, started seeing some fishable water. Tried two spots with nothing but a gafftop. Third stop was money. The barometer was in a nose dive and the trout were aggressively feeding. Found this one little spot covered in slicks. Bait was everywhere. Looked like mostly finfish. Mullet, croakers and maybe a few pogies. Threw the mirrodine and they were smashing it. Limit in about an hour or so. Big fun.

Sunday was the same story. Waited for my weather window and went right back.

Seems like the typical spring pattern. Lots of fresh water. The lakes seems to be changing almost by the hour. There is so much dirty water that a tide can bring in good water or bad water without a moments notice.

That's a nice compliment, Alex. I'll leave the guiding to the guides. I've been fishing with several good guides. Those guys work hard, under a lot of pressure to produce fish. I'm just out there having a good time.

Here is a success story:

BoBo took full advantage of what a guides are for. He started fishing Big Lake only 3 years ago and started out knowing very little so he hired a small circle of guides and mostly were one on one trips .
He listen , learned and asked questions

Now the proof is in his fish box that his money was well invested !
