Windy Trout and Reds 3-29

After three hours of sleep we were back at it again on Tuesday morning!! My couple of two were originally from California but travel the country, it was their first time fishing here in South Louisiana. The winds picked up early and boats were everywhere like it would have been a Saturday. We avoided the crowds and went on a search. My goal was to get them on some trout, reds, and bull reds to have the full experience of what we have to offer. We found a nice school of trout over a reef in 2ft of water. Shrimp were running for their lives and the trout were in hot pursuit. The trout averaged 12-16 inches that we kept, with many 11.5 inch fish in the mix. Once the bite played out we hit the shallows to search for redfish. We hooked six reds and boated five of them. We soaked crabs for a good 20-30 minutes with no luck. It was tough conditions with the strong winds but all in all two of my three goals were met. My crew enjoyed their day and got to experience trout fishing and red-fishing and went home with a nice mess of fish to fry. Thanks again.
