2nd split decoy spread
 

What's y'all plan on second split decoy spreads? Will this unseasonably warm weather change the way you normally set up? I have about 6 dozen deeks usually in my pond. I'm torn on if I should pull most of them or keep it big?

depends on how big your pond is

Keep it big with water movement if possible...my two cents.

Don't put any out. The people who hunt around you will be happy!

I plan on putting out about 8-12 duck decoys. And 15 good decoys

What's the difference between a duck decoy and a good decoy?

Man, I thought that was some Lacassine Flyway trickery:)

This is a medium sized pond in the marsh. I'll usually start pulling decoys in the second split. I was thinking of changing tactics being as this seems to be a different year weather wise. I'm just curious if this weather was making anyone rethink their setup as well.

Man I'm out of range of the Lacassine flyway unfortunately

The more the better....

It depends how many birds are in the area as far as numbers go. Towards the end of the split I shrink my spread down and start to pair up the drakes and hens to simulate the pairing up for the trip back up north to breed.

Do you actually think the ducks see a drake and hen paired up together...come on man.

I kill grey ducks every year...I have no grey duck decoys.

Idk but I sure kill the hell out the ducks. It's not so much they can tell the difference they just see the ducks grouped up in pairs.

Strength in numbers, no doubt. I just added 150 more to the 125 I had out.
