Big Lake 12-21-09

Went with Rich and Karl today. Greeted with cold air and calm winds. Started out in Turners but water was too muddy so we headed south. Water began to clear up about mid way. Not a sea gull to be found. Headed towards the weirs and hit the banks for some reds. Managed to get 10 then decided to try to find some trout. Went to 9 mile cut, water was very clear but no trout. Hopped across to west cove but found muddy water at the entrance. Fished there for a little while but no luck. Got back in the lake and tried the reefs to the north of the Old Jetties, not a bite so we went to the flats just south of Long Point. Beautiful water but no fish. Decided to head back to the east bank for some more reds but nothing. Headed North again to Turners on the way in and it was still muddy so we didn't try. Took it to the house with 10 Reds. Caught fish on tsunami swim bait, E-Paul secret weapon, gulp and gold spoon. What a gorgeous day, just wish we could have caught more fish. Had a good time with good friends.
