Speckled Trout in Full Swing
1 Attachment(s)
My my what a day! The marsh is absolutely LOADED with fish right now and this is what happens on a gorgeous day in November down in Dularge, LA. The day began with the tide slow rolling out of the marsh and the trout were slurping shrimp in the slick calm water. I love that sound. With no wind it was picture perfect. Everything was right in the world and speckled trout began to thump the bottom of the Blue Wave. Now this bite didn't last long. After 7:00 we left the 6 ft. depths and were greeted in the lake by flocks of birds as far as you could see. I'm talking big gulls diving all over the place, some so full they couldn't even fly tearing up the white shrimp. I'm not gonna lie we probably caught at least 200 fish today. There's so many fish it's unreal. Hitting and running was the name of the game most of the morning until we hit our limit of 75, keeping the biggest fish we could find. With this many fish out there it's easy to see what the rest of this month and December will bring. With a few more cold fronts coming up these fish will get nice and fat deep in the marsh. I can't wait! Thanks to Capts Travis Miller and Marty Lacoste for putting everyone on limits as well!
