11-2: Rock-n-Roll Report
Rollover: Only 1 boat trailer in their Parking lot. Pretty serious flooding from PI to Rockefeller.
Rockefeller: Only 3 boat trailers at the Joseph Harbor Landing. We launched at 12:30 PM, Standard time. East-end Locks were open. Ohhhh...... and the weather called for NW winds. Actually FWC and Calcasieu Locks had NW winds @ 11:00 11/2 AM. Inside water at Joseph Harbor was high and muddy. Concrete Weir and Mud Hole -- 10 lbs/cast of pogies and 0 Shrimp. LSU Dam....nada, but did catch a few cocahoes for fish bait. OK, here was the game changer... :):) gulf winds were actually out of the SW. No protected beach water from the SW 10-15 mph wind, produced muddy 1-2 ft chop. Plan A was to fish the Rocks for Specs and Reds. Turned around and commenced looking for some decent water inland. Found some decent water, caught and or /attempted to catch, Sand trout with every cast for 1 1/2 hrs. Prefer Spec's, but kept about 10-12 Sand Trout for a lady friend to practice her filleting skills. ;) Dat's it Cha' :) |
