Back at it today in even better but colder weather. The water was absolutely flat and smooth as far as you could see.As Ray said, the reds were stacked at the weirs along with the boats...Moved to the West side without luck... came back to the weirs and just started moving south and got our limit by about 10:30...all on any color gulp shrimp and crab....a great meat haul and great weekend...

Good report and NICE catch....

The weirs strike again! Good catch!

Put a dent in the Redfish population.
I seen a few boats hitting the grass banks on the East bank also. |
Yeah, but I spread the wealth - some went to LSU with my daughter, some are going to College Station with my son, and some are going to Morgan City with my Dad. I'm frying the smaller ones tomorrow with the bigger ones grilled on the half shell Tuesday night with friends over scotch and cigars. And yeah, I was tired after cleaning 39 reds three days in a row.
The Calc Pt. cleaning stations are nice Ray. Sure beats cleaning anywhere else I've found ('cept for the pelicans). |
Great catch...lots of good eats........
|
A great way to finish the W/E
