Newest baitcaster Build

So I'm calling this my "1sts Rod" I took it as a challenge to try a bunch of different techniques.

Here are the specs
Blank - Batson SP843 7' blank (man I love these batson blanks)
Grips - Winn split grip(blue)
Reel seat - Fuji ESCM exposed blank seat
Guides - Spiralwrapped standard alconite guides 8, 7, 6(possibly 7, 6, 5 I can't remember)

Rod fishes great. It cast a large she dog well with little whip and allowed for various walking the dog techniques with little effort. Me think I'm gunna like this little setup.

beautiful. why is the hook keeper on the side? my friend builds my rods(RR RODS) and he puts em on the right side and my braid is always getting hung on it, seems like on the bottom would be better. great work guy.

I put the hook keeper on the side because typically you grab the bait with your left hand and hook it to the rod. Have your buddy try the double foot style of keeper. Should fix the catching issue.
