I used Cocodrie about a month ago. Tide was supposed to start moving out (at coco) at 08:00am, and I expected it to be later at PAC. Got on the water at 7am and tide was already moving out pretty good clip. Caught 4 from my kayak north west of the Marina. That would also be south of the island road. Guys I know went in kayaks this past weekend, put in at marina at end of road, went up the main channel for a couple of hundred yards to the first big cut into a open area and went east. Found an oyster reef and each caught 3 nice reds. Good luck. If you have never fished at PAC be careful about the current in that main channel. If its moving in the opposite direction you need to go, you may not make it. I'd plan my trip accordingly. Good luck bud, and give us a report.

I fish out of isle jean charles...I use pelican island on la. sportsman ....At launch usually about 2 hours later...Usually good redfishing to the northwest of the launch...Usually redfish all over with a low tide....Fixing to be time of year where you can take a left where the canal t's off out of launch and follow main bayou couple hundred yards down and hit canal and area's east side and get limits of trout.....All I fish around there is white gulp under float year round....If you head left out of launch you can get into the same marsh just be further north....Theres a canal on right of bayou only a hundred yards or so....If tides up just get in the cuts and they open to ponds....

I use Pelican Island, Timbalier Bay, tide chart, its about 20 minutes different then the charts and since the charts are off by 15-30 minutes its pretty close to spot on most days

My advice to the yakers is get your yak ready before you get in front of the launch blocking everyone else. Ive had at least 5 back up to the launch and start untying the yak, putting rods even had one start putting a bait on the rod. I know its not all of you but it seems that some of these guys have no launch etiquette.

also stay safe. Y'all are nuts sitting the pass with 300 yaks in 30ft of fast moving water. Where that PFD.

Yes, yaks can take a while to launch, which is why I don't use the boat launches. At PAC marina, I put in on the board walk. Thats one thing I don't like about yakking is the time needed to pack and unpack gear. Been trying to reduce what I bring. In my boat, I launch, turn the motor over, and head out for fun!
