Lmao!

Man, first time I ate fish tacos was last week. Got some Mahi tacos at a place in Bossier City. Damn chef couldn't speak very good English. If that is what fish tacos are like, I'll never eat another one. Tasted like fish sticks! Yuck!!

One of my favorites...... Add some thin slices cabbage for an added texture. Can't beat it.

love em with cabbage and chuy's sauce poured over em. heart emoticon Serve with chips or veggies.
4 oz green chilis drained (small can)
4 oz jalapenos slices (I used jar jalapenos)
1/3 c cilantro
1/3 c Mayo (not Miracle Whip)
1/3 c sour cream
1/3 c buttermilk
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 pkg Ranch Dip Seasoning
Combine first 3 ingredients and chop really good, you can use a blender if you want it smooth, I like it a little chunky.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
If you want it really spicy add more jalapenos. Serve with chips or veggies.
Store in refrigerator.

this sounds good, I have never had fish tacos, sooooo what kinda fish? and how do you prepare it? fry it or just lay in a few chunks of baked fish

smooth move 06-18-2015 08:43 AM

i like redfish, cut in about 1/2"x3" pcs and fried in any batter. seems like the fish holds together better while eating the taco when fried, but grilled is good too.

grilled in a brown butter pecan sauce then splashed w/ a few drops of lime works fine. any way you like fish works for tacos. You can flake it after cooking or if fried leave it in small pieces

Yep thinly sliced cabbage. Got family in SoCal where these were first made from what I understand. I use lightly battered and fried Mahi with a Baja sauce. Roughly its sour cream, lime juice and the thick juice from a can of smoked jalapeños- they have an official name but can't recall at the moment. I play with it till I like it. And corn tortillas warmed on a griddle. Good eats!

Nah. Some little place down on the River. Kind of over by Barksdale AFB.

I use bass, catfish, flounder or white perch and cut into 1" strips.

Made some grilled chipotle garlic lime snapper tacos tonight, since it is taco tuesday. Topped with homemade mango avocado salsa and fresh tomatoes.

Looks good Meaux, may have to try that with some snapper I have. I like my fish tacos with the "Dragon Sauce" that SaltyShaw posted on here a few years ago. I usually eat tacos with whatever is left from a fish fry.

Try it with cold slaw on top of the fish with a little red crush peppers. If you like spicy use habanero sauce.
