Good speck guide around New Orleans???

Hello all,

I'm looking for a good speckled trout guide around the New Orleans area...Lake pontchartrain, Delacroix, etc. Want to book a trip for my uncle's birthday where he can limit out. So, I need a good guide. Any recommendations???

If you are wanting to catch limits ,unless your uncle is very experienced i would skip lake P and fish the shell beach / hope dale area. Here is a guide i have fished with and had a great time and caught plenty fish. http://www.unitedcharters.com/
Capt Rory will run out into Breton sound and fish for bigger trout if weather allows or can put you on limits in the marsh if not.

Tim Ursin -Captain Hook charters out of Shell Beach. I've been with him 5 times and limited every time in every kind of weather. Awesome fisherman.

Inshore charter prices have gone up quite a bit over the past few years...$900 for a group of 4?!?!

well that's what? $225 each, that's not bad at all and includes meals and fish cleaning so that's very cheap IMHO. hell the plane ride out there and back alone is worth $50 a head and something most of us will never do in our life. many one day boat charter trips are going to cost that price or more and don't include meals and fish cleaning and fuel is extra. prices on everything have doubled over the last ten years including guide trips.

no matter what you decide, taking him on a float plane trip like that is definitely a once in a lifetime experience for most people and weather he limits out or not, im sure it will be a trip of a lifetime for him.

JMO but if that is the price for the float plane trip to the islands, it is a steal.

Yep, I had no idea it was priced like that.

I wasn't referring to the plane ride one. He said the plane isn't his thing. I agree that's a great deal! But the others...

Gas is only about $75 for a trip (most of the places)...so $900 minus $75 = $825 for a few hours...geez

But times have changed and you gotta pay to play!
