How's the Water in Henderson?

Got the itch while driving over the Basin yesterday to finally give it a shot. Planning on taking the pirogue over to the Henderson side tomorrow and fishing that area.

Never been before, so really don't know what to expect. Is it worth it to make the hour and a half drive from Prairieville? Is the water high out there?

Yes the water is high.. Personally I'd wait a while.

What's a good gauge to look at for Henderson? Is the station at Lake Pelba good? What's the typical water level there?

I know, a lot of questions, but I want to start learning the Basin since its not too far of a drive.

The Pelba gauge is the correct one to check. Normal "pool" level is 9ft and its at 16.9 now so it's very high.

GOOOOH!!! Yeah, think I'll stay around the house or head to Big Branch.
