Good Ole Dularge Trout Haul
3 Attachment(s)
We were blessed with yet again another beautiful morning down in Dularge and the target was speckled trout. Gerald and Gayle Daigle jumped in the Blue Wave down at Jug's boat launch and away we went. We arrived on the scene of clean water, birds diving, and tiny croakers of which the trout were slurping up on the surface. The sound of that can drive a man insane. Very little falling tide was before us and the first cast yielded a trout. It got hot and heavy for a bit and we iced up 36 trout in the big Kysek cooler. A short move of less than 50 yards and we found where the sneaky fish thought they were hiding. As soon as the Reflexion Lil Bammers splashed the water it was inhaled by a hungry yellow mouth. This went on until the tide stopped moving and we packed up and headed for greener pastures. This time only a half a mile away we spotted some birds diving, liar birds at that, but I dropped the power pole and found the trout stacked up again. Lots of throwbacks in this particular school but a few keepers. Still, the trout were after the tiny croakers. After icing up a few and the bite slowly dying, we took a ride deeper into the marsh to see what was up. By this time the wind was howling and we figured all attempts at trout were over. Not so. Back to the protected honey hole and it was game on again. What a way to end the trip but with another every cast bite. Lots of throwbacks but we ended the day with a solid 66 keeper trout. Holler at me if you want to fish as this is the time to book!
