My transducer broke, And I can't find a place that sells the 83/200 transducer for lowrance. It's for an hds 7 touch. I need one asap! Where can I buy get one?

How did it break?

alphaman 01-30-2015 09:05 AM

It was to tight I guess and something might have hit it while running. Broke the neck part.. the round teeth cylinder was still on the bracket. And the transducer was hanging by the wire

WOW!! that sux! do you have it mounted to where is hanging below the boat?

Bumfisherman 01-30-2015 09:14 AM

Same exact thing happened to my HDS7 transducer. Looking for one also.

bayouchub 01-30-2015 09:25 AM

If they are installed properly they will just fold up if you hit something.

Contact Larry Byrd in Westlake. He sells and installs Lowrance products.

I tried that. I though about that but that wasn't going to work.

Replacement transducer

Amazon has several and might have the right one. You should be able to get one in 4 or 5 days. Gander mountain carries transducers give them a call. If the transducer takes a side hit it will break off. I have had several break off on spring mounted setups.

No I have a step, it was installed at the water line there. I think I was to tight and could pop up.

Mine went out over the supper and I replaced it with a in hull transducer.
I went with the airmar P79
I find this is a much better transducer than I had before.

I dont like the fact that you have to cut a hole in the bottom😨 for the inhull kind.

You don'd have to cut a hole in the boat.
You glue the base to the boat and fill it with liquid, put the transducer in the liquid and adjust the transducer to match the dead rise of your hull. The theory is the sound waves travel better through liquid. I think this transducer workes better than the factory transducer.

You can also epoxy a transom transducer in-hull
