Chicot Lake Bass Fishing

Anyone fishing Chicot, was thinking about a trip this weekend.

dennissonnier 01-14-2015 05:46 PM

I went Monday morning until noon. Water was 2' higher than normal, muddy and 48 deg. Had 0 bites and no fish activity on the water.

Every time someone mentions Lake Martin, I have Kingfish flashbacks.

Pretty lake

Late getting report on Lake Martin, fished about 3 hours Saturday morning, had two 16'' fish but should have had 5. very light bite on long plastic.

I've never winter fished bass in chicot, but I bet it would be exciting! Pitching a jig to EVERYTHING!! The thought gives me chills! Love it!

dennissonnier 01-22-2015 09:35 PM

I fished Chicot from 9am to 2pm yesterday. It was not exciting. I pitched jigs and creature baits, drug lizards and a variety of worms, threw senkos, squarebills, cranks, redeyes shads, spinnerbaits, paddletail swimbaits, ect. Not even one bite. Water temp was 52 deg. , high and muddy. Not chocolate milk muddy, but not the usual stained water. Trying to figure out where to go this weekend.
