i just today feel that i have at last mastered the no fore grip delima that has plagued me for several years, i have done them before but i was never happy with my work, the customer's were delighted but i knew they were not right and thier is nothing on the mkt for this tupe work, well i have to build a couple and after a long hard study it just came to me like out of the blue, i have had the secret right here in front of me for years just not quite what i needed until just recently when i reordered some stuff and as soon as i saw what i recieved which was intinded for another purpose i said oh my god i wonder  and today i was putting "speckdaddy's rod togther and decided to give it a shot, total sucess after all this time, funny how something this small can excite me this much ofcourse i dont expect it to look to good to you but if you only knew :*****:
the anguish i have suffered trying to master this simple rod building small thing, now my custom billystix spiral rods are a step better thanks to a stroke of pure luck, take a look at the fore grip on this reel seat and notice how clean and neat it is, the barrel would normally be left open without the cork fore grip :D

hi "speckdaddy" you do know that is your baby dont you.
you will have my first suscesful no fore grip rod, but now that i have mastered it , it will only get better, but i have also learned something today as i have been working on your rod that i will now be able to do a much better job on other rods due to the fact that in working on your rod i discovered another minor error that i can avoid in future builds and i will now be able to mkt a no forgrip spiral but it will be a billystix special because i found another spiral secret in the no forgrip besides what i have shown here but i will keep this to my self :*****:, you all will see 2 of the new spiral
s at the march fishing tourney, i am going to build one for first and 2nd place trout, and they will be very radical spiral.s
stay tuned.

one of my favorite rods is w/o a fore grip

speckdaddy 12-06-2009 06:27 AM

aint kiddin, i have bought soooo many rods and manually cut the cork handles off of em makin the rod look like **** .i hold my rod a lil funny, and without the foregrip makes it alot easier ta hold my rod as well as make it wayyy more sensitive.

No fore grip and no trigger

YES IF YOU LIKE THAT TYPE FISHING THEN YOU WILL ALSO LIKE THE NEW REEL SEAT WITH THE HUMP INSTEAD OF THE TRIGGER ON THE CASTING ROD, I HAVE BUILT SEVERAL SPIRAL RODS WITHOUT THE TRIGGER AND HAVE HAD GREAT SUCESS AND RESPONSE FROM THE OWNERS. YOU MIGHT SAY TO YOURSELF I CANT CAST BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING TO HOLD ON TO, WELL THAT'S JUST NOT TRUE ONCE YOU HOLD THIS TYPE ROD IN YOUR HAND AND FEEL HOW COMMY IT IS AND MAKE A COUPLE CAST YOU TO WILL MOST LIKLEY FEEL THE SAME WAY, OF COURSE THERE WILL BE GUYS THAT WILL REFUSE TO ADMIT THEY LIKE THE CHANGE BUT THAT IS JUST A EVERYDAY FACT :*****:
