Shrimp gumbo help

Never cooked a shrimp gumbo. Always do chicken or duck and sausage. Have company coming this weekend that doesn't eat meat, but eats seafood . Anybody have a simple shrimp (not seafood) gumbo recipe? Also, I don't cook my own roux. Thanks

Google Shrimp gumbo recipes or shrimp and okra gumbo recipes. Most of them call for a bit of sausage or ham because w/ just shrimp you really won't get much flavor.

For extra shrimp flavor get a bag of dried shrimp, grind up into a dust, then pour into gumbo.

Lots on da stove. Went with recipe on bottle of roux minus the oysters. I'll try to remember to give a report tomorrow. Better be good for what I paid for the crab meat .

Now a days ya can get the ground up dried shrimp off the same rack as the whole ones at most places.

It was great!! Everyone loved it. Super easy. Just followed directions off of jar of Kary's roux. Left out the oysters and parley.

Can also make stock out of shrimp heads and peelings to add more shrimp flavor.

You might just have something there. ;) What is that, about a 4 oz package?
