air bubbles in fuel filter

I have air bubbles in my fuel filter on my gatortail and it simply tops running while on step. If I keep pressure on bulb she stays running. Put new fuel pump on last nite.

Any ideas?

Air bubbles in the filter usually means you have an air leak. If you are using quick connects get rid of them. Lawn mower engines don't like air mixed with gas. If not using quick connects then check your fuel line for possible cracks.

Fuel line is leaking/sucking air between the filter and the tank. Tighten the connections or change the hose.

sometimes its the pump bulb itself leaking, if the bulb can spin on the plastic fitting then its not sealing well so change it.

if you aren't sure just run all new lines

Ok going with new line, bulb, tank fitting and tank!

Just remove the fuel filter. This will stop the air bubbles in the filter. Sorry. I just could not resist.

I would remove fittings and plug one end of the line. Submerge in a bucket of water and blow air in the line. You will find the leak. If no leaks then it's your clamps or fittings.

just avoid those attwood bulbs from walmart, they don't last more then a year or two at most before getting hard on you.

I found for bulbs its best to go with a factory brand, they aren't much more expensive and seam to last forever
