Vbay afternoon quickie

Came out the Quintana saw the dirty water in the cove accompanied by the vbay armada and without hesitation we shot the gap toward the pass. Picked up a 1 trout, 1red, 1flounder in the first hour and started second guessing. Started heading toward the mouth of the pass toward dry reef and spotted a small slick... Stopped and first cast... GAME ON! My buddy had to go get his kids so we were back in the Quintana by 555pm. Not half bad for a vbay 3hr trip even for me who doesn't catch fish unless they jump in the boat... Yes u have if you fish saltwater. U just don't kniw what it is exactly. It's like a mirage almost on the water. It's an oil slick made by fish eating baitfish. The oils in the baitfish rise to the surface and make a sheen. Look to the sky to make sure it isn't clouds deceiving u. I never pass em up especially small ones(just created) and anyone around a reef in vbay
