Sitting in my truck on my lunch break and listening to them talk about this on the radio. It's 20 bucks to do the challenge but you also get a $20 gift card from Funky Fleur De Lis. Works out to be free. Props to Funky Fleur De Lis.

How awesome!!

As of Monday, August 25, The ALS Association has received $79.7 million in donations compared to $2.5 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 25).

Very glad to participate/donate to such a cause. Saddening to know that this is/was so underfunded.

Did it last night

Very good cause for a very horrible disease.

fishfighter 08-26-2014 10:46 AM

awesome

that is awesome, but there is good and bad with this challenge, people need to be careful, make sure they are medically capable of taking on the "ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE"

i heard something over the weekend about a girl that died because of the ice bucket challenge, not sure of the details

I'm so glad they are raising so much money for research but dang im tired of everyones videos on Facebook. They are all trying to out do each other. Best one I saw was the chick doing it while sitting on a horse bareback. Guess what. The horse didn't volunteer for it and he wasnt happy about it. She ended up face first in the dirt.lol

The cure for ALS may not be within my wife's lifetime, but it is good to see some humanity left in this world. Someone like my wife, who may be affected several years down the road, may have a glimpse of hope throughout this disparity. People don't realize how much of a driving factor that is... I have seen it through my own two eyes how much hope can make or break an individual.

God keep and bless you and your family brother.

Did my challenge Sunday and made my donation. I don't have FB so I don't have to watch all the videos. I lost my grandfather to ALS so if people getting their 30 seconds of fame and Facebook likes means that maybe my kids or grand kids don't have to go through what I witnessed with my grandfather, then I'm all for it!

Yea I don't like the videos and I was hesitant to make one, but it definitely raises awareness and keeps the ball rolling so that is a good thing

As somebody in the know, what is the best organization to donate too that gives the most research for the money? I have seen multiple organizations that people are donating to.

One person posted public record for one and for a $100 donation only 6 or 7 dollars were going to research. Just want the most trustworthy organization getting the funds that will do the right things with it.

And yes, I too have seen videos of buckets slipping out of peoples hands from a second story balcony. Bad deal
