That's not good....

Hit Big Lake Sunday for morning of solo fishing and relaxing. Well at about 7:30 while throwin tops my trolling motor burned up in a puff of smoke. With the wind like it was and no troll motor, I spent the rest of the morning just enjoying myself and listening to tunes.

However, at about noon I picked up my wife and 5 year old at the launch and I was able to put my daughter on her first fish. Really made the trip worth it and made me a proud dad!

Awesome man. Congrats on the first fish. That's a bull too!

Bluechip 07-02-2014 02:55 PM

Does anybody know of a good website or place that I can get a new motherboard for this trolling motor? Its like a 1997 motor guide great white 24 volt 67# thrust. I dont really have funding to replave it right now (as mush as I hate it). Recomendations would be appreciated.

Surf the web.

I bought a new board several years ago, but don't remember where I found it.

I do remember saving ~ 30% over buying in from a marine dealer. No one local had the part I needed.

Can't find one under a 1999 make right now. Will keep searching.

Sea Jays in Alexandria used to be a place where you could find anything for a trolling motor...Don't even know if they are still open but maybe worth a try...

It blew the magic smoke. I hate when that happens!

Last time I brought my great white in to superior it was finished. Had it for a good 10 years. And they sold me a used riptide for half the price I would have paid for a new one. They usually have a few used ones laying around the shop.

BayBolt23 07-03-2014 08:28 AM
