Dixie Chopper mower

Who around lake Charles or Sulphur works on them? I changed belt and now blades won't disengage.

There are 2 different length belts to choose from that control engine drive pulley to the deck. The short one is about 2 inches shorter than the long one and there wont be enough slack to fully disengage the blades even when tension lever is out of gear. Take your belt off and go get the longer one.I learned this the hard way.

Tensioner

Did that. Its my sons mower. The belt jumped off and he saw it had some bad spots. Went and got a new one and it won't disengage now. Actually try putting the old one back on and it wouldn't disengage. Checked it against the diagram and it's on right. Makes no damn sense

Tell you what else I've had to do was loosen the bolts that hold the engine down and slide the engine back or forward to give it proper slack but yeah those things are a pain
