live shrimp at Heberts soon?

Saw a couple guy doing some work under the restaurant and said they were going to sell shrimp there again. Anybody heard anything about it?

"W" 05-30-2014 01:10 PM

Yep it's true

LAfins 05-30-2014 01:22 PM

Bout time

LAfins 05-30-2014 01:24 PM

Know when it will be done?

"W" 05-30-2014 02:09 PM

The guy who is doing it told the guy who runs the landing June 1st but I really don't know a for sure answer

If they getting tanks ready I'm sure it's close but I want to know what kind of shrimp boat is going to get close enough at the Landing to unload

we used to bring our offshore boat there for fuel. its always been shallow. just gotta drag bottom. the shimpers were able to do it back then too. guess they have a decently shallow draft.

LAfins 05-30-2014 02:26 PM

Didn't think about that. They probably didn't either

Seems like it needs dredging. Would be nice if someone with equipment would help out.

shrimp at heberts

Yeah that canal and landing definitely needs dredging out,can hardly launch my bay boat there on low tide...

The whole thing(parking lot, canal, etc. ) could use some fixing up. Hate to pay $5 there anymore.

They won't sell a whole lot of shrimp if the weirs don't ever get opened, seems like after all this rain the salinity should be down, if not they may need to recalibrate their meter

There has been some work done to improve the gravel approach to the boat launch. It is a lot better now after the "pot holes" have been filled in.
